The International Dyslexia Association describes dyslexia as a neurological condition, often found within families, that affects how individuals acquire and process language. Dyslexia can range from mild to severe and shows up as challenges with both understanding and expressing language. This commonly includes struggles with phonological processing related to reading, writing, spelling, handwriting, and sometimes arithmetic.
